Experienced Professional
With other 25 years teaching experience in primary schools in London and Essex, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience to support pupils to reach their full potential.
A Personalised Approach
Tailoring each session to the need of the learner is the starting point at Empower, while adapting and reviewing learning regularly so that we help students overcome barriers to bring concrete results.
1-2-1 or Small Group
Some children learn best on their own; others prefer learning in small and supportive groups. At Empower Tutoring, you can choose the grouping that best suits your child's learning.
Focused Lessons and Feedback
Every lesson is 55 minutes long, for optimal effectiveness and to allow feedback to parents. You can have one or more sessions per week, depending upon your child's need and our availability.
About Empower
My name is Mark Day and I am a highly experienced teacher who has worked in schools in London and Essex for over 25 years. In that time I have specialised teaching Years 5 and 6, particularly in SATs and exam preparation, but have experience working across the primary age group and with students up to Year 8.
As a teacher and tutor, I have always gained great satisfaction from seeing students develop their knowledge and understanding, becoming more inquisitive and increasingly confident and independent learners.
All students have different learning styles and preferences, tailoring sessions to ensure I am helping them to reach their targets and goals, whether that is preparing for a test, catching up with and accelerating their learning or developing confidence and study skills, is my number one priority

One to One sessions with students - can be focussed on one subject or two.

Small Group
Small groups of no more than 3 students. One subject focus. Suits students who enjoy collaborative learning.

Holiday Groups
We run small Half-Term, Easter and Summer Holiday Groups to help keep students sharp and focussed.

Pay in Advance & Save
Get 10 sessions for the price of 9 when paying in advance.
